What "experts" are forecasting a "V" recovery that you could identify and list here for us?

Bruce, i agree with you in your skepticism on this point, though it is instructive to remember that many were forecasting a V recovery earlier in the year. the fact that "V recovery" is now common parlance is a result of this popularization. we were told countless times of a 2H 01 recovery. this is to say the "experts" did not know what they were talking about. once again, wall st. market strategists fulfilled their role of making astrologers look good.

unfortunately, one place that does seem to expect a V recovery is the stock market, or rather investors in the market. people seem very afraid of "missing the bottom", so we see silly articles in popular magazines and academics playing word and number games in the press.

if history is any guide, there will not be so much interest in the market when a true secular bull arises again.

in the memorable words of that great sage Dow Tzu, "the spoken bottom is not the bottom".
