Tom, The Fed needs to save the bullets so to speak, it is only the beginning of a recession. He needs all the ammo for the further consumer confident plunge in Oct and Nov to save the X'mas sales, IMO. I'm 50/50 with 0 or 25 bp cut, but I'd vote for 0.

Tom, while it is true that the Fed has provided liquidity, the problem is one of supply, not lack of demand, at the business level. The liquidity is simply not flowing through the banks to borrowers as bank lending committees have become super conservative of late.
