However, if you take Koran on its face value as the basis to follow your life by, would you ignore the teachings on beating your wife (if she does not obey you), or killing those who do not think in the same manner as you do (in terms of religion and belief in God), etc.? And if so, therefore you are simply ignoring and/or sanitizing that part of the religion that does not go well with the 21set century civilized standards on marality and life in general. And this of course is good, and I sincerely hope a vast majority of Muslims start doing so. While psychopaths like the Taliban, Khomeini groupies, and Osaman Bin Laden's of the world continue to follow Koran (in its present form) word-by-word and to the last letter, we may soon have a movement to sanitize the religion - and who knows we may even have a New Koran (similar to the New Testament)...
