Religion is the worst phenomenon man ever created. Actually, I have to UTTERLY DISAGREE WITH YOU Addi.. It is religion, or more appropriately, the belief in an almighty creator to whom we will be answerable upon our deaths, that probably has created the greatest impetus for civilized behavior and legal statues to guide man's behavior. Almost everywhere one travels will be found some level of belief in a supernatural god/gods, no matter how primitive the society. More simply put... those of us who believe we must restrain our actions towards others, or be held accountable by our god, have little defense against those who believe in only themselves and what they can take while living in the "here and now". If you lack a belief in a life after death, then you are nothing more than an animal given to do whatever you can get away with, no matter who you harm. After all, you are only accountable to yourself and your own greed. But that said, you're absolutely right that many travesties have been commited by those who have misinterpreted religious values. And I'm sure they received special attention as they tried to explain their crimes to god. Hawk
