One thing now though is most state budgets will start to take a hit

Most states have a substantial surpluses built up and are fairly conservative with pension fund investments. However, my state NJ, was been promising a lot of extra expenditures for education of inner cities that are budget busters if economy slows dramatically.
They have done wonders finding extra money in last few years by calling state bonds high interest rates and replacing them with lower interest paying ones. The only problem is they have used lower carrying costs for bonds to float a lot of additional government projects. There will be hell to pay if interest rates rise in the future.

PS I saw Toricelli on local TV this morning looking like a man that doesn't have a care about possible impeachment case from his illegal campaign money raising activities. It seems WTC collapse is spawning a lot of mass transportation projects under the Hudson River like both rail freight tunnel and an additional commuter rail tunnel. Torcelli is bquickly becoming a good imitation of Sens Lautenberg and Damato who were real good at securing money for their respective states.
