Sudan and OPEC Sudan, Economics, 10/3/2001 The Sudanese minister of energy and melting Awad Ahmad al-Jaz stated that accepting Sudan as an observer member in OPEC will avail it the chance to further benefit from the available supplies in the area. In a statement following his arrival back from Vienna on Monday evening where he took part in the OPEC's conference which was held there, al-Jaz added that Sudan's participation for the first time as an observer was an opportunity to acquaint with Sudan's abundant resources.
