Come on Math, that's playing games! You don't buy a "Bear Fund" in a Bull Market. The Fund has doubled this year.

I wasn't playing games, he was. He was bragging about the performance of his fund since 1995 in the article. He chose the time period, not me. All I did was point out that one could have done better by buying any index and holding it even through the current bear market. If we fall further, that will be less true and may even become false. I would agree with you that I was playing games if I ignored the last year or so, but the simple fact is that he has been outperformed by all major indexes since Jan 1, 1995.

As to not buying a bear fund in a bull market, I completely agree. The same is true of bullish funds in a bear market. The difficult task is figuring out when the change is happening before it is over...
