>>Married with a wife and one-year-old daughter, he holds a degree in business studies, having been educated in Pakistan<<
>>Give the guy some room if he is telling the truth<<

So, if a married guy with a daughter apologizes for torturing and murdering innocents for playing cards and other such similar transgressions, he deserves just a little understanding and pity?

Most murders are repentant. So what.

Edit: >>(including bad guys)<< Just who is "badder" than this guy?

To allow him to go free would make a mockery of those who resisted doing such evil and lost their lives. If he is telling the truth: he tortured his own people to death to save his own skin ... what kind of room do you want to give such a person. There is a word that describes such: traitor.

Would you give your same consideration to those who participated with the third reich, pointing out where Jews lived and helping gas them -- then came out later and said how horrible it all was?

Goodness, pearly -- your comments make no sense to me at all ....

My original question was a bit more jaded: IS this story legit or something invented to get us to think taking the Taliban out of the way is a good thing. I am sure that there have been atrocities against the people of Afghanistan, but I guess I am getting cynical about what we get from the press. The press is above all else used in order to shape opinion -- that's why I questioned the article, whether it was legit.

Glad to hear your ideas why this guy, if he is for real should somehow get amnesty, when he has tortured people to death.
