If you assert something is true then the burden of proof is on you if you want others to believe it. This is true whether you assert that we live in a universe with moral absolutes or if you assert that we live in a universe with no such moral absolutes. If you simply say "I will not believe in moral absolutes without any proof", then it is left for me to prove them or having nothing more to say. However you are not merely saying that, you are making the assertion that there are no intrinisc morality. If you want me to believe that they you have to prove it.
