DJ Swiss SNB Sells 7 Tons Of Gold In 10 Days To Sep 28
ZURICH (Dow Jones)--The Swiss National Bank sold around seven metric tons of gold in the latest 10-day reporting period ended Sept. 28, national bank statistics showed Monday.
The latest sales brought to around 327 tons it has sold from the 1,300 tons it has identified as surplus for sale. The disposal program began in May 2000.
Last week, the SNB said it planned to sell a tranche of 283 tons of gold through September 2002 as part of the program.
The gold operations come under a framework agreed among 15 European central banks on Sept. 26, 1999.
