Lying to the infidel is the same as "the end justifies the means" was to the Jesuits.

Quite amazing though. The U.S. with the largest military arsenal in history has been sent into a tail spin from a mosquito that should never have been allowed to fly.

I don't think that one instance of weakness is necessarily sufficient to justify the opinion you are expressing. Using such strict criteria to evaluate the whole of humankind would obviously necessitate the belief that ALL people are less than true to their religion. How does such a statement inform or enlighten?

Moral values often come into conflict for all of us. You might, for instance, be torn between loyalty to your family--and between giving Caesar his due over some social "offense" that you believe is ill conceived. This cognitive dissonance forces a choice. But it hardly equates to infidelity in any sensible rendering of the question.
