Want to see a real chutzpah?

This is the worst I have seen in years:

First, Swiss Air announces on Sept. 10:

Swissair Group strongly denies media rumours regarding the Group negotiating debt waivers with banks

Zurich Airport, September 10, 2001 - An article published yesterday in the Swiss newspaper “Sonntagszeitung” has led to speculations in the media that the Swissair Group is negotiating debt waivers with some of its banks. This is wholly inaccurate. On the contrary, as announced on August 30, Swissair Group is, on its own accord, accelerating its bank debt repayments with full repayment of its bank debt being achieved prior to the end of 2002. The Group is in compliance with all covenants relating to its borrowings and will continue to make all payments of interest and principal as they fall due.

To achieve the acceleration in debt reduction and improve its equity position, the Group is planning to dispose of a majority stake in Swissport in 2001 and either its entire holding or a majority share in The Nuance Group in early 2002. These actions, which together with those already announced should total over CHF 4.5 billion of disposals and asset financings over the next 18 months, will enhance the liquidity position of the Group and strengthen the equity base in a significant manner.

Yesterday, it was reported that Swissair can not pay the October wages and in particular, that the aircraft has been grounded because they could not pay the petrol

Take your pick, 1,400 a retest or perhaps 1,200?
Frankly on a valuation basis the NASDAQ probably derserves to be at 800, but still too many throw dough in this direction upon the belief that the 1995-2000 period will repeate itself.
Hindsight is 20/20, but it won't happen again as much of the late 1990's growth resulted from every corporation in America giving a blank check to CIO for Y2K.
CEO's hated it but had no choice. For a short time in 1999-2000 Tech lovers and Wall Street peddled the on-line/e-commerce craze, but it went poof.
INTC, SUNW, MSFT will be the future Chrysler's & GM's, once analysts acknowledge they are simply business's, subject to competition, downturns and in gerneral the same challenges presented in everyother business and industry.
