Not that I've given much thought to it <g> but one opinion is that Schottenheimer the GM has sabotaged Schottenheimer the coach with some incredibly stupid offseason moves. Like not looking for a QB that fits his style (like Flutie, or even Dilfer - or Rypien for that matter). Like letting Tre Johnson, one of the better interior linemen in the league, go and find themselves still looking for a replacement. And dumping Stubblefield, who was a disappointment but still a lot better than what they have. And cutting Larry Centers because he wouldn't follow Marty's prescribed offseason workout police Same with Mark Carrier. And the article's right - the players don't really like him and don't believe in his system. And there have been a few comments about his letting George go, though it doesn't seem to be a big deal. And Banks has looked decent at times.

And a lot of the blame has to fall on little danny - how he got to be one of the richest guys around is beyond me. He's the one who insisted on signing George. Now something like 10mm of next year's cap will go to him and Deion - another one of Snider's great moves. He and Marty have managed to turn an injury-ridden team that was a field goal kicker away from an 11-5 season into one of the worst football teams I've ever watched.

I'm sure Norv is having a hard time restraining himself from feeling smug.
