Here in South Florida, the real estate market has slowed tremendously since Sept.11. There simply isn't any "traffic" looking. In the meantime, a surge of listings are coming on the market. "For Sale" by owner signs are growing like weeds. Those are the folks that think that the "boom" is still here and they can name their price and avoid commissions. The only activity is in the "starter" home market where renters are looking to become buyers.

My guess is this market will quickly turn to favor buyers in the coming months as the "bubble" appears to be cracking.
Once our tourist season is over...those that have homes for sale that didn't sell during the "season"...will have a major problem.

It seems most people are in denial that the real estate market has topped.

just my thoughts
