Ummm. Do you REALLY doubt that, if the US had not had nuclear weapons during the Cold War and the Soviet Union had had them, the US would have been either conquered or forced to submit to their will? That we (and Britain too) would have been forced to adopt a Communist system of government? That freedom of religion would be at best a dim memory?

What part of "Thou shall not kill" don't they get?
