Que, the Serbs used rape as a weapon in Kosovo, Bosnia and Croatia - as much or more than killing civilians, rape is a way to try to destroy the dignity of another culture or group. The consequences can be as lasting as losing a limb for the victims.

But in the Serbs' case, Muslims were the favorite target for systematic rape. Go figure.

Que seria, RE: <<three little girls who were raped for days by Taliban soldiers who killed their mother when she tried to protect them - the youngest was aged 9.>>

Unfortunately I believe that this will occur anywhere and any time that you have a system where men with a rifle can take what they want without fear of consequences. Those who will do such things do them, and all too frequently. That's the reason that we need checks and balances in government since the bad guys out of, AND IN, law enforcement around the world and here in the U.S.A. are armed and powerful and we must constantly be vigilant that they are checked. That's also the reason that I believe in very minimal gun control to make it difficult for those with criminal records, minors and the mentally incompetent to get weapons, but easy for all the rest of us to secure and keep arms without threat of confiscation.

I didn't see the special, but I can't believe that in a country that is purportedly as well armed as Afghanistan someone didn't drop one or more of those soldiers with a well placed shot from the top of a building or a hill. Ed
