links tend to expire, especially to newspaper and periodical publications where new content replaces old.

You are quite right. I'd forgotten to mention this.

I have found that a lot of linked sites are blocked from my office, but SI is not.

again, right on target. I have been a little concerned about people posting material from subscription sites but that probably has not been much of an issue.
