RE:"And back to the world of Intel, CPQ warned for the 3Q, which was modestly surprising. No question, the last 3 weeks of the quarter would be down, but CPQ is now saying that the 3Q will be down 12% sequentially, which would imply that things were continually getting worse even before 11 Sep. The key here is how much of this is the inevitable market share loss for CPQ in the HWP merger aftermath and how much is an overall hardware market issue."

Why is this even moderately surprising...?
All the signs were there...merging with HWP especially..

GV and Thread, RE: "down 12% sequentially"

Not good, but frankly, I was expecting worse. I'm somewhat relieved.

INTC is up .25% in after-hours, so far. Good luck to all.

edit: Now it's down 1/10%. INTC doesn't seem to be reacting too much in either direction so far.
