yeah, they wouldn't step until a whole bunch of shareholder equity had already been destroyed, at the very least.

There is very good downside potential as the housing market dries up -- think about it right now -- we are coming off what has been the best possible world for real estate. Low rates, abundant credit, an economy that appeared to be smokin' -- it doesn't get any better going forward -- likely to get much worse. FNM is a good short here -- it is somthing you can sell that is not already cut in half, but that has limited upside, too.
