I have to agree totally with Stan.

------------- You can agree with whomever you like. That is your choice. And you will deal with the consequences of that choice. Now that being said looking at a year or two and saying that that tells a better story than almost twenty years of data for the longest running trusts is ignoring the complete information. Something that you are entitled to do. But that does not mean that because you choose that, that that other information isn't there. ----------------

These trusts are very volatile and trading can be a much better strategy than holding.

----------- Trading can be a good strategy. I use it for the warrents and the rights when they come along. But as a sole and lone strategy it means that every trade you make will be a successful trade. Or for the very least that you will have much more successful trades than unsuccessful ones. I bring your attention to another trader here Lorne Larson in posting # 1421 he says """"" Just so all the cards are on the table I'm short NCF and SHN; long VKR, PVE and AY. """"""". Now later on we look to posting # 1599 where he states """"""" NCF is simply too hard for me to figure out so I'm going to avoid it short or long."""""""". Now thats a pretty hard thing to do, avoid it, when you already committed yourself to it. I suspect in this case his positioning and his investment did not make a very good return. But then mistakes like these we just should ignore because trading is so successful. --------------

I purchased Prime West, Enermark, and NCN early this year approximately at the same time. I sold Enermark about the
middle of this year for an approximate 20% gain. I traded NCN four times since my initial purchase for approximately a
40% gain. I still hold Prime West and even with the distributions I am down about 10%.

--------------- So lets get this straight you have here 5 trades. Now 5 trades is suppose to tell us just how successful trading is over the longer term. Hardly. I traded the warrants of ERF.UN for a gain of over 300%. I traded the rights of EIT.UN for 400%. Check my previous postings related to these. So what !!!! These are all just short term examples. The short term does not hold for the long term. -------------------
-------------- Also one has to look at the degree of time and effort you have to put into trading. I spent more time and effort trading the warrents and rights than I did in all the accumulating on weakness I have done over the past 20 years. Sure I have many thousands to show for the trading. But for the accumulating ,which is a no brainer, I have several thousands of dollars each month in income being generated. I do not have to worry about the day to day news or day to day events. I just sit and reap the benefits.-------------------

It is possible it will take years
for my investment in Prime West to equal my NCN trading.

------------ And so what you are down only on paper. When the cycle moves upward again. As history shows it allways does. You'll have plenty of paper gain. So you'll end up with plenty of paper gain plus high monthly income over a long period of time. With doing next to nothing but buying on weakness. Oh yeah thats really got to hurt.
