the people have proven they can live together in the US I have seen that so many times, at universities and elsewhere. So many feel free and happy here. There is a lesson here somewhere. I stated here weeks ago that I hope the US and its friends, both NATO, the moderate Arab states and others finally understand the responsibility and the cost of leadership: bring peace, freedom and opportunity to the rest of the world, and not just the G-7. That is the surest road to peace we have known. Look at the incredible success of the Marshall Plan. It is time for Marshall Plan II for the Middle East, and then Africa.
