The drums of war were beating but , "where was the war?"
My husband, who is a Republican is very unhappy about Bush right now. He tells me that many men at the local Vets club are also disgruntled. Apparently, Bush did a great job as cheerleader general but got everyone pumped up for something that hasn't happened yet. Most people expected him to strike quickly with at least a token countermeasure..........not necessarily a large bombing campaign but something to retaliate. Bush did a good job as cheerleader but the team isn't on the field yet. The crowd is cheering for an empty arena.

I think Bush should have tempered his talk with a more realistic approach. He appealed to people's patriotic side but that appeal with wane quickly.

Frankly, I am not unhappy about a more cautious approach to the violence, but I object to the playing of everyone's emotions in order to get your polls more supportive.
