I think I agree with that but the reason I switched from saying civilian to "non-combatant" is that it occurred to me that many of the terrorists are civilians. They don't wear uniforms and in Afg. , as in Vietnam, I fear it will be very difficult for our troops to tell the difference between combatants and non-combatants. This is one reason that the support of the local population would be helpful, if it can be obtained, for they will know who used to be Taliban and Arab-Afghan and where those people used to live. Without a lot of help from the locals I don't think we have much chance of getting the terrorists, unless the terrorists do something stupid like using a radio.

These iliterate morons hold some responsibility for living where terrorists are nurtured. They are guilty too. In 1775, in massachussetts and other colonies, ordinary people began to risk everything to fight a very powerful English King. And these ordinary people won in hte end, but it took years. I like it here in the US. I like being free, but these savages in Aghanistan don't know what freedom is. They are either the starving oppressed, or they are the fat and happy opressors hiding being the false Islam baloney they profess. So I say, let's do it, and ask who's who LATER. Victor
