Crimes, misdeeds, punishments and sanctions aren't linked in the sense that punishment and sanctions depend on what someone else "gets". Each action and reaction is supposed to stand on it's own. I don't understand why every time someone wants to or suggests making changes to improve things, or points out things that they think are improper, some people respond with that.. wah wah wah stuff,.......... everyone else is doing it, why are you picking on me, it's so unfair, blah blah blah. They sound like little children that got caught shoplifting and are wiggling and screaming and crying and squealing like little brats, trying to weasle out of the punishment, or trying to rationalize or justify their behavior.I don't object to penalizing those people if they are doing things that they shouldn't be, I never did , but my focus and priority is on what people who are short are doing or not doing, & whether or not the rules need to be made stricter (which I do)or left alone. Sometimes people want to help the x part of the community, and then they get the..why aren't you helping the z part of the community? what about them? I feel if you want to help the z part of the community, well then by all means (YOU) help them. Why pester me about it, I'm busy helping the x part, and don't have time for your pet project. But if you feel that you disagree with the petition, the answer to that is simple....... don't sign it. The people that think the way you do will take similar action and not sign it, and the people that don't feel the way you do will take a different action, and they'll sign it. That's the way it should be. P.S. Have you considered starting a thread or "a movement" to have the SEC take a closer look at the people that you think may be breaking the rules? You can do that, you know. There's no rules against your becoming an activist.
