I'd have made the same dicision. The Packers took a lot of heat when Favre struggled for 2 years. In that 4 year period you list how many coaches and offensive schemes has he gone through? 3? Anyhow....I'm not going to debate the issue. Age, mechanics, potential all favor Johnson.

Those numbers don't lie. Johnson has a lot of talent. But, he doesn't have any pocket sense. None at all. He is a great athlete, but gets sacked a ton, because he can't "feel" the rush while looking downfield at the secondary. Flutie is the master at this skill. He has eyes in the back of his head. when it comes to pass rushers.
