9th rate cut in fact...they bought only the first one if i recall correctly. but the pattern has been that the open market desk does a HUGE repo the very day after the announcement, and that the ramp is being effected then - the day after. nevertheless, it is now beyond doubt that the only comparable periods in stock market history are 1929-32 and Japan's post '89 slide into oblivion.
