I was referring to foreign aid not total contributions. According to this article there is just 2 billion in private contributions overseas (half of that by Ted Turner alone):

Go to THERE'S AN EAGLE (written after September 11th), then click on hi fi play or lo fi play to hear the song, a great song... I've been in email contact with Steve for the past week, this song is inspiring and he's about to land a recording contract, I think with RCA, too soon to say..... he needs the hits on that Web site.....<g>
