I know little about Chechnia. Apart from the fact that Muslim "freedom fighters" have been drawn in from several Islamic countries. It's been on and off the news for years now.

The thing is the WTC and Pentagon has happened. The freedom movement in Chechnia is toast. Gone the same way as countless other wars that got lost.

Any potential support I might have given Chechnia "freedom fighters" (I was always a little suspect, after they nearly got all they wanted, and started blowing up many innocent citizens to increase their power) has evaporated with recent events.

I don't believe I am alone on this point. The military might of Russia can help the West once again is my view. God bless um too. I recently visited the Ukraine, and saw one of the War museums, well actually is was more of a park. Those guys shouldered a lot of the suffering and loss in WW2. I know they are not part of the USSR now, but the short visit was educational.

Chechnia? just one of those things imho. Where I live now we had the Jacobites. They are gone now for several hundred years. History.

I don't regard myself as a "hawk" on these events either. The Islam extremists have screwed it up for themselves completely. I just argue with Haim a little as I would like to see the Palistinians being given a slightly better deal. It is a WW2 era UN generated problem after all (Isreal). Each side could possibly come to agreement.

I only have a little knowledge of these subjects (which is dangerous I know -ggg-) but perhaps others may make relevant remarks.

regards,

pearly.
