Actually when you parse his words, I think it's even worse...he attributes them to the President and Secretary Powell...while making a point of stating that "he's studied Mr. bin Laden for a long time" . He takes "formidable person" and extrapolates that into "worthy opponent" and leaves the impression that they are Bush's and Powell's sentiments.
