Interesting Technical Analysis read on gold from last year.

Taken from the "g9999" site. At the home page, click on the Technical Analysis link. (Could not post article as it it a PDF file).
Interesting to see the Wave predictions and how they have held up in 2001.

g9999.com

For those not familar with the site it is a good starting point for Metals analysis and info.

Russ - With regards to a Rig builder, I would like to recommend FGH. (Kidding)

Russ, We have some time here before we dive into the OSX, we are approaching tax loss season and some of us feel we'll see the OSX at 45 here shortly. My feelings towards this industry is that if there is any supply disruptions you’ll either want to hold the commodity itself or the next best thing to it, an integrated oil company with reserves located here in North-America.

Canadian integrated oils vs. OSX
finance.yahoo.com^TOGI&d=c&k=c1&c=^OSX&a=v&p=s&t=1y&l=on&z=l&q=l

As you can see by this comparison, I’m having a heck of a time taking a position in the Alberta’s oilsands, and I haven’t seen the meltdown I need to become shamelessly bullish. Natural gas stocks on the other hand, have acted as the data suggests they should act. With storage reaching record levels the stocks are beginning to bottom, you may want to take a position here, but closer to December. BTW: La Nina winter again this year.

Just a note of caution, SPR restocking or not, we are heading into a world wide economic recession and it’s best to invest with that notion in mind, because relying on terrorist for supply disruptions isn’t what Mr. Market has in mind.

Notable stocks:

National Oilwell (NYSE:NOI) -- excellent drilling tools
Tesco (NM:TESOF) – they own the top drive market

Oilsands

Suncor (NYSE:SU)
Alberta Energy (NYSE:SU)
