Thanks Neeraj ... cnn.com's stupid setup won't permit a direct url but it can be accessed from here - cnn.com The only reading i've done on this was a book showing the situation from Mountbatten's viewpoint, the things he had to deal with, he didn't like or trust Jinnah as i recall ... can't remember the name of the book, long time ago Do you have a sense of the situation on the ground in J&K? ... do you know to what extent the violence is generated internally, and to what extent externally ... is there cultural mingling and intermarriage ... probably not eh ... do muslims and hindus live in separate areas, separate villages, etc ... are muslims or hindus richer, or is there a difference .... what do you think should happen with these provinces? .... cheers
