I agree with some of what you say, but only insofar is it relates to bin Laden and his group and other groups with views like theirs, and they do have world-wide reach. But it's not the predominant view of Muslims worldwide. Thank God, and thank Allah. It's a relatively small group of fanatics -- and would-be terrorists -- who must be dealt with in the harshest and most uncertain terms. But it is not representative of Islam or the overwhelming majority of Muslims. Just like Jim Jones wasn't representative of Christianity. This is more like Charles Manson. Personally, I don't even think bin Laden is religious, but is only cynically using religion and Muslim extremism as a means of trying to justify his own nutty views.
