Milo,

Has anyone read this news from re:PC2100 and Micron/HP?

Great news for retail PC buyers. What makes this development interesting is that Intel is moving from P4 with 3.2 GB/s memory bandwidth of Rambus to 1 GB/s PC-133 SDRAM, while AMD systems are moving from 1 GB/s PC 133 SDRAM (somtimes completely ridiculous PC-100 SDRAM) to PC-2100 - 2.2 GB/s DDR SDRAM.

I wonder which chipset HP is going to be (is) using? My guess is that they have been using AMD760, but a move to NVdia based nForce would be a good move IMO.

Joe

milo,

Hadn't reloaded on AMD yet. Got my hands full with JDSU and SCMR.

Just about fell out of my chair with these iNteLabees whining about AMD's new advertising campaign.

How soon people forget that AMD was so far ahead of iNteL in their copper process, iNteL had to resort to dreaming up a name for their new aluminum processor so people would have a chance to fall for the possibility it might be something special.

The infamous "Floppermine" [TM-Jimbo] Coppermine.

Make it so,
Mysef
