Ahimsa is a Buddhist term meaning "reverence for life", in the sense that we are all a part of the karmic order. Albert Schweitzer, who moonlighted from medicine as a liberal Christian theologian, was quite taken with the term, and emphasized it as a sort of solidarity with and compassion for all living things........
