Market Update from Briefing.com /2:30PM ET...

The market averages are currently taking a little breather in the wake of the afternoon upside extension. While Cisco (CSCO +2.47) indicated that they are comfortable with the current consensus estimates (current qtr. EPS forecast is $0.02, with next qtr. at $0.03) this has not been the only news on the group as Buckingham Research raised its rating on Cisco, Juniper Networks (JNPR +2.67) and Ciena (CIEN +2.49) to Accumulate from Neutral; firm believes Europe is stronger than expected in long haul and enterprise; Asia continues to be strong and the gray market is drying up. Volume remains heavy with market internals decidedly in the bullish camp. NYSE Adv/Dec 1988/1073, Nasdaq Adv/Dec 2286/1227
