<< It in normal that not having his "fair share" of Jerusalem "Al Qods" if you prefer, is a big issue for him. >>

But, Arafat is not totally stupid. Close, but not totally. He will and would not honor any peace treaty, ever. So, it would have been best to get a share of Jerusalem, and then go for more.

<< Finally, he may not see how to have a viable economic country with the land he'll be stuck with, agriculture ? minerals ? >>

You are assuming that his mind is capable of doing such thought. But, he has shown before that he cannot be trusted. Why didn't he grab Palestinian Statehood, significant financial aid, promises of water rights, peace, etc. I think that it took everyone by surprise that he didn't jump at a great offer of peace and prosperity, especially when everyone knew, that once he got all these concessions, he would never keep his word for peace.

<< So he is not in a hurry. Why should he be ? >>

He is neither in a hurry or in a rush. He is a ruthless, backstabbing cretin, who gave up huge concessions from Israel, because he knew about the upcoming attack and holy war against the US. It is the only thing that makes sense.

Do you really think that Arafat knew nothing about the terrorist activities of his allies?
