I guess i'd say that the "when you lose a loved one, you gain an angel whose name you know" statement was well intended by Oprah. (I suspect there are many among the bereaved who felt their grief trivialized, though.) My psychoanalyst friend says that although there is free counseling offered in our county for anyone affected by September 11, very few firemen are accepting the offer. They are just... bearing it. I spoke yesterday to the wife of our fireman friend who lost so many friends. He has had a complete personality change. But so far has refused to talk to anyone.
