SI threads are not all that conducive to a nuanced discussion of ethics vis-a-vis foreign policy. People don't seem to be able to agree upon the facts well enough to discuss ethics, and so there is a never-ending round-robin of finger-pointing that leads nowhere.

It's hard enough to talk about facts here.


Ah, it's not just at SI. Foreign Policy is generally a topic and practice that attempts to be Switzerland - ethically neutral - to maintain good objectivity in pursuit of effectiveness.

Your comments are kind. I try to restrain my inner considerations to avoid mucking up Ken's place. However, the capacity to put one's self in the shoes of others is a form of kindness that I think is effective, as well.

But only if you're wearing socks.
