rd, good toon. many people feel this way re tqm and six sigma b/c management goes for instant gratification almost every time and it screws up long term, brute force work to achieve sustainable results.

just like greenspan (and countless other execs across the nation in their own way). why spend the time to find out why computers didn't drastically grow gdp and productivity as expected when you can just change the numbers? the latter is so much *easier*. -ng-
