Jacob, Eugene first mentioned the 200 week ma. Here is a monthly with 50 month ma [roughly equivalent to 200 weeks] stockcharts.com[w,a]maclyymy[d19920101,20011004][pb50][vc60][iUb14!La12,26,9!Lf!Lc20!Ld20]

In past cycles price just touched that ma, this time it penetrated deeply. Part of the reason is the ma went higher because of bubble prices.

ST trading:

I sold mxim @38.7 (33.5), amat@30.02(27.5), sunw@ 9.05(7.98), altr@17.5(15.2). Parenthesis shows the buying price in last few days. Today's selling gets me of the margin and consists 50% of my holdings. I had 49% equity in my account this morning. I still have core mxim, amat, sunw and altr (100% invested). I will use margin to play short term and keep the core holding for long term. Today it feels good after one month of pain.
