yeah, I know a woman in suburban Silicon Valley

she was so boastful of her mansion and beachside properties
mansion worth $1.6m, bought 30% lower
other recently purchased for $1.1m

my guess is each is down substantially in value
the beachside probably is underwater
the mansion is still showing a profit
and a divorce was in the works when I talked to her last

nothing like a dose of reality to interrupt hubris
I took my doses
she will take hers

the sneaky little fact that I find misunderstood is...
mortgage rates are ticking up
30-yr TBond yield has risen SINCE the WTC attack in NYC
mortgages are tied to 10-yr TNotes

we may soon be staring at slightly higher bond yields
but for the next few months, I doubt that scenario bound by higher inflation expectations will unfold

"with two cats and a dog
life used to be sooo hard
now everything is easy 'cause of you"
a great song to do drugs by back in 1970
