Does that mean if one buys catfish, one should ask if it's American? Who knew?

Not that you could believe the person who is selling it, I suppose.

Occasionally catfish, which is usually a delicious fish (apologies for saying that to a vegetarian) has a sort of funky, unpleasant taste. I have thought it must mean the skin wasn't cleaned off thoroughly or something. So I only buy it at one seafood store where it's always good. But maybe the funky tasting ones are the Vietnamease ones that aren't really catfish.

Does anyone know about this?
