Using an aging 6'5 inch QB is just not a good long term plan. Agree?

Are you the poster child for the blind?

Age is indeed a factor (Now). But Flutie's stature, the fact that he doesn't fit into your so-called prototype mould for a quarterback was the main reason Flutie was never given the chance. From his rookie year out of Boston, the word around the so called know-it-alls in the NFL was, "We can't build a team around this guy." All this guy has done at every level he's played is WIN...WIN...WIN. Yet he gets no respect because he does not fit your perfect quarterback ideal.

Sooner or later age will indeed catch up to him. Maybe one or two more years left in that arm. Actually, I personally think that it's his need to prove himself that drives him to continue.

Now as far as rebuilding with Flutie. Why Not??? Chargers are wisely rebuilding with Flutie. They drafted a quarterback in Brees who is happy sitting on the sidelines while learning off the master. In a year or two, Brees will take over the team and have much more experience than if they threw him in right now. Need I remind you of Ryan Leaf?

The Buffalo situation is different. They are rebuilding yet they chose to keep a qb who definitely does not have the talent nor the smarts to be deserving of a starting position. He has lost consistently throughout his career. Keep in mind that his Off Line excuse for his poor performance in previous years was pretty much the same group of players which Flutie WON with. What the Bills should have done was face the fact that Johnson was a loser, draft a rookie qb and have him learn from Flutie, a winner, for the next couple of seasons.
