Michael, in a previous post to Richard, I mentioned about some habits of AMAT: —-

1996 Low was at about 22 in Sep and Oct, then went up to 40+ before it settled at 35+ by year-end.
1998 Low was at about 22 in Sep and Oct, then went up to 48+ before it settled at 42+ by year-end.

So if we are now At or Near the Low, chances are we could be between 35 to 50 or better by year-end.

OT RE: “ … On one of the talking head shows, the guest said that Filipine intelligence has been the most helpful to the US.”

As a matter of fact people there were surprised that America was caught Flat-Footed when the Sept 11 thing occurred. For several years now Philippine Intelligence has been warning us about the aborted attempt of the Abu Sayyaf (Cell of Bin Laden) to Hi-Jack a local Plane for Practice to Hit a Target like a building or military installation.

In recent Posts I've mentioned here about the tactics of the terrorist group but nobody except Gottfried was interested. What happens in the Philippines, I'm afraid it might happen here later. I am well aware of happenings there through TV broadcasts and also from this site (for you who are interested): —-

Two years ago I was in Manila. Shopping Malls are closely guarded with both uniformed and disguised security officers from the Entrances to individual Stores or Concessions inside. Every establishments, all around big cities are guarded. When I returned home here I passed 3 security check points in the Manila Airport. Even my wooden YoYo was x-rayed and tinkered with. Now, are we prepared when terrorists start bombing our Malls? I think we have to wait for one bombing to take preventive action.

A Filipina Muslim is one of the wives of Bin Laden. Reports are 50 Filipino muslims just graduated from the Camps in Afghanistan and probably on the loose now.

One tactic of the Abu Sayyaf is to kidnap people especially foreigners vacationing in resort areas (last year they kidnapped people from a nearby Malaysian resort then brought them inside Mindanao and Sulu. As some hostages were released with ransom payments secretly paid (the Philippine Gov't discourage paying ransom and they are contemplating enacting a law to make it a crime to pay ransom ) the kidnappers get other hostages for Ransom again and again… Now, are we prepared to cope with kidanap victims here?

Atta, the pilot of the first plane was seen training with a small plane a few years ago. The former Chief of Police in Manila testified against one of the people accused of bombing of the trade centers in 1993.

A day or 2 ago there were reports of school children being afflicted with Flu-like symptoms. Who knows if the terrorists are using the Philippines to test something?

Warnings are everywhere in the Philippines. Can we do something to prevent those things from occurring here?
