that's basically it. one would do well to remember that e.g. the Fed is here to protect its member banks - not the man in the street. one could argue that the latter flows from the former, but i rather doubt it. certainly inflating the money supply way beyond the bounds of prudence and embarking concurrently on a deficit spending spree can't be construed as a positive.
