Mumbai to Delhi plane hijacked


NEW DELHI: A Boeing 737 belonging to India's state-run Alliance Air, with 52 people on board, was hijacked just after take off from Mumbai early Thursday.

The plane landed in New Delhi where security officials immediately cordoned off the area, the TV network reported.

A government source told AFP that all Indian airports had been put on high alert after the hijacking.
