You're wrong.

Bush41 lost to himself in 1992 because he ignored his base and broke his pledge. He and the Dems greatly increased wasteful spending while increasing taxes. Both hurt the economy.

Clinton didn't really "win". Bush41 lost. Dems still got their 41%. Disaffected GOP went to Perot.

As for 2002. The Dems at best will break even in the Senate, probably lose a seat or two. SD, IA, MT and NJ look like GOP gains.

In the House, the Dems will not score gains because of history. History says that the "out" party usually gains seats in the House - but that's because the "in" party gained seats in the previous election. Not the case here.

History also says that no party has ever gained House seats 4 elections in a row. Which rule is harder to break? The last.

That's because all the weak GOP seats are gone. And what makes it even worse for the Dems is redistricting - virtually all the vanishing seats come from Dem areas and the gain to GOP areas. And even in states where Dems control all - like CA, for now - they aren't going take any GOP seats.

The bad economy and the stock crash are seen correctly as part of Clinton's legacy. Bush and Cheney innoculated themselves against the Dem lie campaign early on - that's what made you so mad. Remember?

Further, the economy should be springing back to life next Spring.

As for 2004, the economy will be fine - it always is after the GOP cleans up after Dems - and people have leaned not to trust Dems with national security. The Dems are hopeless.
