I like to debate and check out other views. Hopefully learn something. But when you are insulted for having conservative views, or liberal views are offered that have no basis in fact, then people respond sarcastically. Set the meannenss and sarcasm aside, and try to find a well thought out liberal position that is supported by truth and logic. I have seen very few since I joined SI, and only a few liberal posters that actually seem sincere in their beliefs. Pick out any liberal position you support and I will have a civil debate with you as long as you don't insult me or support your positions with suspicious generalities like "everyone knows Bush is for....." When I went to the liberal thread to debate I was told I was not welcome there. That seems pretty uncivil to me.
