There might be a V-recovery.... that starts far down the road. Especially if things get bad enough. But, for a V-shaped recovery, things will have to get a lot worse before we hit bottom. IMO.

Today's exuberent rally was fueled by a hint of mkt preceived good news...

President Bush told business leaders today he is pushing a $65 billion to $70 billion economic stimulus package to encourage consumer confidence and assist workers displaced by terrorist attacks

I think people will be shocked when they see where this market ends up.

Thats for sure Dale...Last month on teh 18th I predicted this rally after redemptions..it was pretty perfect on my part <ggg>

October is a horrific month historically toward teh end of the month...due to a variety of factors...

This Mkt in serious trouble Dale..Serious in the micro.

One thing for sure - if you are going to hold overnight you better be sure that it will not be a company that will warn.

Holding sons and opwv - I don't think they will warn again until numbers day at the earliest :)

"I think people will be shocked when they see where this market ends up." They already are shocked. I have talked to friends who Retirement accounts have taken a 35% to 40% hickey. They fell out of their chair after reading the statement. Sad part their age is in the 60's and their advisor put them in TECHNOLOGY. Can you believe this? Any advisor with half a brain would be conservative since the money will be needed in a few years. I want to call their advisor and tell them what idiots they really are.

I remember the brokers cut people at the very bottom of the 1988 recovery. Kinda dashed my dreams of working for one then. Maybe a sign that a near term bottom here too. I'll take a rally to 1950 Nasdaq.
