I guess it's worth it posting the latest news release: Ashton intersects kimberlitic rock in Quebec Ashton Mining of Canada Inc ACA Shares issued 36,238,668 Sep 20 2001 close $.650 Sep 21 2001 6:19:20 Mr. Robert Boyd reports Ashton Mining of Canada has intersected kimberlitic rock during the fall drill program in the Otish Mountains region of Quebec. Ashton and its joint venture partner, SOQUEM Inc., hold more than 176,000 hectares of mineral permits in the Otish Mountains area. At the first geophysical target investigated during the program, a vertical drill hole intersected ultramafic igneous rock with characteristics that are consistent with kimberlite. The hole intersected the kimberlitic rock under 10 metres of overburden and terminated in this rock at a depth of 108 metres. A second hole at the same location drilled at a 70-degree angle from horizontal also intersected 108 metres of similar material before terminating in kimberlitic rock. The current drill program will continue with the testing of additional targets. Ashton will report further details after the completion of the program in late September or early October. Ashton and SOQUEM have been exploring for diamonds in Quebec since 1996 in an equal joint venture. SOQUEM is a wholly owned subsidiary of SGF Minerals Inc., a subsidiary of the Societe generale de financement du Quebec (SGF). The mission of the SGF is to carry out economic development projects in co-operation with partners and in accordance with accepted requirements of profitability. Ashton is the operator of the exploration programs and Brooke Clements, professional geologist and Ashton's vice-president, exploration, is responsible for their design and conduct.
